링고패널(LingoPanel)(이하 "확장프로그램")은 유튜브 영상으로 외국어를 공부하도록 돕는 Chrome 확장프로그램입니다.

1. 내 컴퓨터에만 저장되는 정보

다음 정보는 사용자의 Chrome 안(chrome.storage, localStorage)에만 저장되며 운영자에게 보내지지 않습니다.

• 만든 학습지, 별표한 단어·숙어·문장, 즐겨찾기한 영상
• 화면 언어·번역 언어·반복 횟수·속도·음량·단축키·패널 위치 같은 설정

확장프로그램을 삭제하면 이 정보도 함께 지워집니다. 학습지를 HTML·PDF·CSV·TXT로 내보내는 일도 사용자 컴퓨터 안에서만 이루어집니다.

2. 서버로 보내는 정보

운영자의 서버(cctv-api.rrecommend.com)로는 다음 두 경우에만 정보를 보냅니다.

가. AI 사용 가능 여부 확인 — 패널을 열 때와 30분마다, 지금 AI 학습지를 쓸 수 있는지 서버에 묻습니다. 이때 무작위로 만든 설치 식별값(이름·이메일·계정과 연결되지 않음)만 함께 보냅니다. 영상이나 학습 내용은 보내지 않습니다. 서버는 이 값을 하루 사용자 수 같은 통계와 사용 한도 계산에만 씁니다.

나. AI 학습지를 만들 때 — 사용자가 AI 학습지 만들기를 누를 때에만 다음을 보냅니다.

• 영상 ID, 영상 제목, 채널 이름, 자막에서 만든 문장 목록(문장 시간 포함), 원래 언어·뜻을 쓸 언어·난이도
• 위의 설치 식별값

서버는 이 문장으로 AI(Anthropic의 Claude API를 먼저 쓰고, 안 되면 Amazon Bedrock의 Claude 또는 Google Gemini)에 단어·숙어 분석을 요청하고, 결과 학습지를 같은 영상을 보는 다른 사용자(모바일 앱 포함)도 다시 쓸 수 있도록 보관합니다. 보관하는 것은 학습지(단어·숙어·뜻·문장 번호)와 학습지를 그리는 데 필요한 문장 목록(문장 번호·시작 시간·문장 글, 영상당 한 벌)이며, 사용자를 알아볼 수 있는 정보는 들어가지 않습니다.

다. 서버 접속 기록 — 서버(웹서버)에는 일반 웹사이트처럼 접속 기록(IP 주소, 요청 주소, 시간)이 남습니다. 보안과 장애 대응에만 쓰며, 정해진 크기를 넘으면 오래된 것부터 자동으로 지워집니다.

3. 브라우저 기능과 외부 서비스

• 번역(문장·단어): Chrome에 들어 있는 번역 기능(Translator API)을 쓰며 번역은 사용자 컴퓨터 안에서 이루어집니다.
• 기계 음성(번역 읽기·통역 모드): 브라우저의 음성 읽기 기능(speechSynthesis)을 씁니다. 사용자가 고른 음성에 따라 브라우저 제공자의 온라인 음성이 쓰일 수 있습니다.
• 고급 목소리: 설정에서 고르고 내려받기를 누르면 음성 모델 파일(약 400MB)을 Hugging Face(huggingface.co)에서 한 번 받아 이 컴퓨터에 저장합니다. Hugging Face에는 일반 다운로드처럼 접속 정보(IP 주소 등)만 전달되고, 문장이나 개인 정보는 보내지 않습니다. 목소리는 이 컴퓨터 안에서 만들어집니다.
• 썸네일: "내 영상"과 추천 영상의 썸네일은 YouTube 이미지 서버(i.ytimg.com)에서 불러옵니다.
• 내보낸 PDF의 🔊 링크는 Google 번역 페이지를 열며, 이때 해당 문장이 주소에 담겨 Google로 전달됩니다.
• 영상 아래 패널: 유튜브 영상 페이지에 학습 패널을 붙이고 재생 위치·속도·음량을 조절합니다. 유튜브 페이지의 다른 정보(댓글, 계정, 시청 기록 등)는 읽지 않습니다.

4. 하지 않는 것

• 시청 기록·검색 기록·다른 웹사이트 정보 수집
• 개인 정보 판매, 광고 목적 사용, 제3자 제공(위 AI 분석 처리 제외)
• 유튜브 자막 원본 파일(자막 데이터·단어별 시간)의 서버 저장. 서버에는 학습지용으로 다듬은 문장 목록만 있습니다

LingoPanel ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that helps you learn languages from YouTube videos.

1. Data kept only on your computer

Stored only inside your Chrome (chrome.storage, localStorage) and never sent to us: lessons you make, starred words/idioms/sentences, bookmarked videos, and settings (interface language, translation language, repeat count, speed, volume, shortcuts, panel position). Removing the extension deletes them. Exporting a lesson as HTML, PDF, CSV or TXT also happens only on your computer.

2. Data sent to our server

We send data to our server (cctv-api.rrecommend.com) only in these two cases.

a. Checking whether AI is available — When you open the panel and every 30 minutes, the extension asks the server whether AI lessons are available. Only a random install ID (not linked to your name, email or account) is sent with it; no video or study data. The server uses it only for statistics such as daily users and for usage limits.

b. When you make an AI lesson — Only when you choose to make an AI lesson, we send the video ID, title and channel name, the sentence list built from the captions (with times), the source language, the language for meanings and the level, plus the install ID above.

The server asks an AI model (Anthropic's Claude API first; if unavailable, Claude on Amazon Bedrock or Google Gemini) to analyze words and idioms, and keeps the resulting lesson together with the sentence list needed to display it (sentence number, start time and text; one copy per video), so it can be reused by other people watching the same video, including in the mobile app. Nothing stored identifies you.

c. Server access logs — Like any website, our web server keeps access logs (IP address, requested address, time). They are used only for security and troubleshooting and are deleted automatically, oldest first, once they reach a fixed size.

3. Browser features and outside services

• Translation (sentences and words) uses Chrome's built-in Translator API, on your computer.
• Machine voice (reading translations, interpret mode) uses the browser's speechSynthesis; depending on the voice, the browser vendor's online voice may be used.
• Premium voice: if you choose it and tap download, the voice model files (about 400 MB) are downloaded once from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) and kept on your computer. Hugging Face sees only ordinary download information such as your IP address; no sentences or personal data are sent. Voices are generated on your computer.
• Thumbnails in "My videos" and recommended videos are loaded from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com).
• The 🔊 links in an exported PDF open Google Translate with that sentence in the address.
• Panel below the video: the extension adds the study panel to YouTube video pages and controls playback position, speed and volume. It does not read other information on YouTube pages (comments, account, watch history, etc.).

4. We do not

collect browsing or search history, sell personal data, use it for ads, share it with third parties (other than the AI processing above), or store raw caption files (caption data, per-word timing) on the server; only the sentence list prepared for lessons is kept.
